HOPPE Program at Hushabye Nursery
The Hushabye Opioid Pregnancy Preparation and Empowerment (HOPPE) program is designed to help you have a healthy pregnancy, healthy baby, safe home and keep your family together.
In 2023, only 8% of newborns received their first dose of morphine at Hushabye Nursery. The Eat, Sleep, Console model is the primary intervention for infants with NAS at Hushabye Nursery. The National Association of Neonatal Nurses’ evidence-based practice reports that “[t]he Eat, Sleep, Console Model (ESC) is the number one modality that has shown to significantly reduce postnatal opioid use for the management of NAS and decrease length of hospital stay by as much as 73%.” The ESC model of care significantly decreases length of treatment and cost of care.
Get ready to party with a purpose at Hushabye Nursery’s Fundraising Gala in October! Your ticket not only grants you access to a fabulous evening but also supports our important work in providing care and resources to infants and families impacted by opioid use. This is a stark reminder that vigilance near water is non-negotiable. Whether it’s a pool, a bathtub, or the beach, always keep a watchful eye on loved ones, especially children.
Drowning is preventable, by learning and using the 5 Layers of Protection:

2. Active supervision
3. Water Competency
4. Life Jackets

A HUGE thank you to our Diamond Sponsor, Valley Toyota Dealers, for their generous support of our upcoming Fundraising Gala in October! We are grateful for your partnership and dedication to making a difference in our community.
It was a special weekend at Hushabye! We welcomed our 800th baby into the nursery since we opened our doors in 2020. As we celebrate this achievement, we continue to seek ways to expand our reach in Arizona communities to serve families that need our services most. Thank you to everyone that has supported us on this journey!
Last week, we had the honor of welcoming Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry Director Ryan Thornell, Deputy Director Tara Diaz, and Medical Director Dr. Grant Phillips, to Hushabye. We showed them around the nursery and discussed ways that Hushabye can support families that are currently in the Arizona Prison system. We can’t wait to grow our work in this space that is critical to the success of our community members with justice involvement.
✨Hushabye Father Spotlight✨
Meet Andre and his daughter, Loyal. Andre constantly exudes pure joy while juggling his everyday responsibilities, being a full time dad, and maintaining his recovery program. He is very active in our outpatient groups and enjoys the community he has become a part of at Hushabye. His favorite thing about being a dad is his special connection with his daughter and interacting with her one on one. We are so proud of Andre for being a positive figure within our program. Happy Father’s Day to Andre and to fathers everywhere! You deserve to be celebrated.
